A heart led life

We are inclined to believe that the heart is the location in the body where love resides. The shape of the heart that we see on cards and bumper stickers has become the symbol for that love. Our language contains multiple references to the effects that love has in our lives. People are "big hearted," "soft hearted," hard hearted," or "tender hearted." We experience "heartache," heartbreak," and "heart felt wishes." We are told to "follow our hearts." Given what we know about the power of the heart, doesn't it make sense to listen to the messages of love that it sends to us? What would happen if the decisions that we made were based on love? This would be both the true love of self and the love of others. We would use what we know about a situation (what our head tells us) and then ask for love to guide us in right action that serves the highest good for all involved. Imagine if this was the practice of every person on the planet, every business and corporation, and every political body. The question becomes, "Why is it so difficult for people and organizations to focus on love in leading them forward?" The answer is love's polar opposite which is fear. When fear leads our lives the focus is on lack, need, and want. Your needs become subservient to mine because I fear that, if you have what you need or want, it will mean that I am deprived of what is important to me. Remember that the Universe has the capacity to provide for all of our needs if we remain open to this belief. When we move beyond our fears, we allow ourselves to experience all the good that life has to offer. What are you doing today to lead a heart led life?
