A ray of hope
When the path we are on appears to be a dead end, the one gift we have is hope that a change will take place. "Let's hope for the best," "There is little hope that a solution will be found," and "I hope you find what you are looking for" are all ways we express varying degrees of hope in our lives. After we experience hope, the next step is to take action in some form. What does that next step need to be? For instance, what would "the best" look like for you and what actions would you need to take to move in that direction? Do you need to make a phone call, talk to a friend, or fill out a job application? Think of what you would like the outcome to be and be open to the 'how' behind it. If you stay in the feeling of hope for a lengthy period of time without action, your emotions can change to less desirable ones such as hopelessness and despair. Do what is necessary to move on in the situation. In the case of the inevitable death of a loved one, it may be that you begin to plan for dealing with their transition. We are always given what we need to take the next step. What would your next step be when you are feeling hope in your life?
