A return to childhood
Think of what it was like to be a child. You had an entire lifetime ahead of you free of the restrictions you would later be taught. In "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" by Robert Fulghum pens the beliefs held by children of this age. These beliefs include: Live a balanced life - learn some and drink some and draw some and paint some and sing and dance and play and work everyday some. Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. Imagine what the world would be like if we each held to these beliefs as we matured. He also tells us, “It’s the spirit here that counts. The time may be long, the vehicle may be strange or unexpected. But if the dream is held close to the heart, and imagination is applied to what there is close at hand, everything is still possible.” In our childhood this is a core belief. The unfortunate part of life is that as we age, we allow the dreams to fade. Take time today to recall those dreams and decide which ones need to be resurrected. If you can't conjure up any of your childhood dreams, use your creativity to formulate ones that would excite you. Perhaps they include play, they type of work you would do, or where you would visit. Keep them free of restrictions. Let it be all about possibilities. What childhood dreams do you return to today and what can you do to make them a reality?
