Carrying dead weight
Imagine carrying a hundred pound bag of stones around your neck for years on end. Create that visual image for yourself. How much energy would you have left to do all that you really want in life? You would probably be exhausted at the end of each day. You might not believe this, but this is what you do every day that you wake up and decide to carry your negative emotions around with you. These emotions include fear, anger, jealousy, and shame. You may have been carrying some of them around for decades. To be free of this dead weight, ultimately you will need to forgive yourself and others.
