Choices

How many times have you heard someone say, "I had no choice in the matter" or "You gave me no choice?" These responses would indicate that there are situations in life for which no choice exists. There are always choices. What is more likely being stated is that the person does not care for the choice being made. In any given situation multiple choices are present. For example, if you were faced with how to handle what some might consider a life or death situation and there appeared to be no way to reverse what the outcome would be, there is still the choice as to how to face it. You could go down fighting, surrender to its inevitability, or give it your best expletive as it ends. Of course this is an extreme scenario, but it shows that you always options in life. You may not like all of them, but that doesn't mean they aren't available to you. Whatever you choose at the time, realize that it is the best you can do in that moment. The action that follows will lead to a subsequent series of events and you never know where that will lead you. What choices have you made in the past and where are you today as a result of them?
