From the ashes
There is a mythical bird called the phoenix that lives for five hundred years ending its cycle of life by building a nest and then is consumed by fire. From its ashes arise a new bird ready to live out its cycle of life even more beautiful than before. This can be a metaphor for us rising from adversity. Think of a time when you felt hopeless. It seemed like there were no options available to you. You may have even questioned why you were alive. I have had such a moment in my life. It was at that moment that I was given a choice as to what would happen if I didn't make a significant change in my life. That choice provided a new direction and life has never been the same since. The depths of adversity were transformed into the life I now have much like the phoenix who was willing to experience death to be reborn from the ashes. I now know that much of what I was experiencing during that earlier time was a disconnection on my part from the Source that had never abandoned me. In a way I had abandoned myself. When you feel like there is no way out, ask yourself what your connection to your Source is like today. Know that there is a better life beyond the ashes. What was your phoenix moment in life?
