Go the extra mile

Think of a time when you decided to perform a service or deed that exceeded what was required. Perhaps it occurred when a customer was in a hurry to place an order and meeting a delivery deadline meant additional work for you. You could have ended the request with a simple, "Sorry, that's not going to happen." Or you told your customer that you would see what you could do and get back to them in an hour. You made calls to your connections and were able to meet the customer's needs. Think of how your customer felt. Think of how you felt. It was a win-win situation for everyone involved. There are cases where we seem to make the impossible possible. If you think back on it, it is probably due to the fact that you maintained a positive and hopeful attitude throughout the process. This attitude was conveyed to everyone you talked to contributing to a positive outcome. When you do this for others, it is likely that the favor will be returned tenfold. This is a benefit, not an expectation. Use today to seek opportunities to go the extra mile in your relationships with others. How would you do that when the opportunity showed up for you?
