Here today. Gone tomorrow.

We may believe that specific material manifestations will bring us happiness. We say to ourselves, "When I am in a loving relationship, I will be happy." Or "When I get that promotion, I will be successful." Or "When I have $20,000 in the bank, I will feel secure." Think back to when you did have a perfect relationship, a job promotion, or money in the bank. Is that feeling of happiness related to it still there for you? You may be truly blessed if it is. It isn't that these conditions aren't important for us. They are part of the human condition. For most of us the feeling passes over time to be replaced by another condition needing to be filled for feeling happy. My experience has taught me that what endures is my connection to the Universe. It actually has increased over time bringing more excitement and joy each day. The relationship, the job, and the money change with time to where they may no longer be present. Being in knowing that my connection to the Universe is ever-present is a source of constant consolation.
