Lessons from the pandemic
While the last two years were probably not part of the plan for how our life would be, they served as an opportunity to reflect on who we are and what is important to us. We learned what it was to live in the moment, not knowing what we would be dealing with tomorrow. We learned the importance of taking care of our own well-being on a daily basis. We learned to trust in ourselves and to take responsibility for the choices we made. We learned that we are connected to everyone on the planet and that what happens on the other side of the globe can have a significant impact on how we live our individual and collective lives. We learned how fragile, yet resilient, life is. We learned that our future can be significantly altered by one incident in a place we probably never heard of. We learned to respect the choices that others made in how they viewed the options available to them in ways to deal with the virus. They learned the frustrations of not being able to be with those they cared about when they were hospitalized. They learned how much they missed human contact when having to isolate. These were hard lessons to learn; hopefully we will carry these lessons forward as time passes. What lessons have you learned from the pandemic?
