Looking good
Who do we show up as when we go out into the world each day? We typically refer to what we project to others as our personality. The word, personality, is derived from the word, persona, which refers to the mask worn by actors in ancient Greek plays. The audience would focus on the mask as representative of the character and not the face of the person beneath the mask. When we face the world each day, what are we showing those we encounter - our true self or our persona? Have our masks become so thick and protective of who we are that people might not recognize us if we removed them? We often hear, "If they only knew the real me." If we find ourselves to be unlovable and unacceptable, how can we expect those around us to do but the same? Now is the time take stock of who you are without the mask and to own that part of you. Accept that at your core you are destined for greatness and that your persona can be an obstacle for living that life. Then when you leave the house you are looking good on the outside as a reflection of the value and worth you have on the inside. What are you doing to look good inside today?
