Not ready to quit
As I begin my eighth decade of life I step back and consider what work means to me. I recall the days when I dreaded the sound of my alarm clock ringing. I would drag myself out of bed to go to a job that no longer sustained my spirit. It was at that time that I decided to make a significant change. I looked back on work that I truly enjoyed and what I saw was working with people to find a match between who they are and what they do. I made that choice almost 20 years ago and I never regret it. Now I awaken each morning facing new opportunities to do what I love. I feel energized with current projects and the prospect of working with new clients. No two days are ever the same. I have learned that I am an innovator who thrives on creating programs and processes. I recently shared with friends that I only wish I was 20 years younger to accomplish all that I see for my future. I know that I will be given the time I need to achieve my dreams so that when I leave this life I will feel fulfilled. How do you see the work that you do today and how it supports who you are? Would you be ready to quit that job today or is there still more for you to do?
