Packing your life for vacation

Date:

In today's world of instant communication and connections, I see a difference in how people choose to spend their vacations. While vacations are designed to disengage us from the stresses of the day, we have figured a way to maintain our stress levels with laptops and cell phones. Rather than be present in the moment to enjoy the natural beauty of a waterfall or a sunset on the beach, we are driven to make that call to the office or work on a project so that we can email it to a client. It seems so harmless. After all, it isn't like we are spending our entire vacation with these activities. You might want to check in with yourself at the end of your vacation and determine if you are feeling re-energized or if you are feeling even more tired than when you left for your trip. If you feel like you need a vacation to unwind from this vacation, you may want to rethink how you use this time. I have heard that for a vacation to be truly effective, we need a minimum of two weeks of time without distraction. How will you plan your next vacation to return fully relaxed and ready to continue your daily routine?
