Room for improvement

I find that there is always room for improvement in my life. This morning I was scheduled to deliver a talk on the job search process to a large group. This was not the first time I had given the talk, but I still took time to review the content and add more of what I thought would benefit my audience. I find it interesting to listen to my self-talk when I am presenting. For the most part it is positive and there are still moments of doubting if this is making a difference to people. The only way I know this is to ask for feedback and being willing to accept what those in the audience tell me. It does not help if I find my ego sitting in readiness to defend what I do and say. If I can step aside of my ego, I find that I can take in suggestions that will only make my presentation skills more effective. I am free to incorporate any suggestions I am given knowing that they are simply part of continuous learning. When all is said and done, I need to celebrate that I helped make a difference in at least one person's life today even if it was my own. What can you improve in your life today?
