Spiritual wealth
We focus much of our attention on gathering material wealth. For many people their success is measured by owning the latest electronic gadget, earning a 6-figure income, or purchasing a new car every three years. The Universe delights in manifesting such objects for us for it is its nature to give. Yet the initial feelings associated with the possession of these objects subsides and we shift our focus to the next set of objects designed to provide an emotional boost. When we focus on building spiritual wealth, our assets grow exponentially. This includes increasing our capacity to love both ourselves and others, expressing gratitude, exercising wisdom, and caring for the planet and all of its inhabitants both living and nonliving. Look for ways to amass spiritual wealth throughout your day. Material and spiritual wealth do not need to exist independent of one another. You can seek balance and harmony between them. When we decide to add to our material wealth, we generally make a conscious plan to do so. We research the cost and save accordingly for that expenditure. You can do the same for building your spiritual wealth. Make a conscious effort to express love to yourself and others during your day. Learn something new that benefits you. Make a gratitude list. Pick up a piece of litter. Each of these actions is a deposit in your spiritual bank account. The dividends are priceless. What are you doing to add to your spiritual wealth today?
