Spontaneous connections

Have you ever met someone and felt like you had known them all your life? You feel totally comfortable in their presence and you wish the encounter would never end. This occurred for me recently. The only plan was that we would be meeting as a group for dinner and beyond that there were no expectations. I met Tina and her husband, Don, and we quickly connected with commonalities. While there were numerous commonalities, it was also our differences that added interest. No one person monopolized the conversation allowing the evening to flow effortlessly. We were among the last to leave the restaurant and excitedly planned our next meeting. What is it about these encounters that creates such immediate closeness? If we believe that like attracts like, then we are sending out signals that bring such people into our lives. Think about a life in which you are surrounded by people much like yourself. Of course it helps if you like the person you see in the mirror. I find that spontaneous connections are occurring much more often in my life these days and I look forward to what they bring. What was the last spontaneous connection you had and where did it lead you?
