The other side of the fence
In recent years I have had people tell me that they wish they had the life I have. They are basing this remark on where I am today. I respond by asking, "And would you be willing to live the life I had that led up to where I am today?" We often fail to take into consideration that a person's life today may be very different from the way it was in the past. Mine certainly is. As I began to use spiritual principles I started to notice positive changes in my life. My so-called demons began to disappear and haven't returned in decades. There are still challenges in life, but they are not so formidable. When faced with those challenges I now have a plan to address them. I am also not so quick to envy the life of another because I am keenly aware that that person faces their own problems. It helps to practice gratitude for what I have today. When I do that I notice that I have even more to be grateful for tomorrow. What does your side of the fence look like today and what can you be grateful for on that side?
