What's the rush?

Date:
December 12, 2022

We live in a world where we try to stuff so much into our day that we barely have the time to enjoy it. We seek our value in what we accomplish rather than feeling the joy of being alive. As you read these sentences, ask yourself where your head is. Are you already planning what you have to do today or are you taking in the message of how this applies to you? This can be an especially stressful time of the year for many people. As the days pass, the list of tasks becomes longer. There is a need for everything to be perfect. Why? What would happen if you chose to approach your tasks in a relaxing manner giving yourself credit for what you do and asking yourself how you feel as you do it? You probably would find yourself slowing down and appreciating what is happening around you. If something on your list didn’t get done, ask yourself how important it was to begin with. Most likely you will have another chance to do it next year with a new attitude to accompany it. When we rush through life, we miss so many of the gifts that it has to offer. How is rushing through life today preventing you from appreciating those gifts?
