A million dollar offer
Think of what matters most to you in life. Perhaps it is something you possess such as a car you have restored to where it is in mint condition. Or a cherished family heirloom dating back a number of generations. Or maybe a longstanding relationship. These are just a few examples of what might matter most to you. Now imagine that I am offering you a million dollars for it. That would mean that it would no longer be in your life. Would it be worth the price? Now imagine that I offered you one million dollars to spend a year in solitary confinement. Would you be willing to give up 365 days of your life knowing that a million dollars was waiting for you at the end of your stay? Your responses are a reflection of what you value most in life. It may be your physical possessions, connecting to your past, or someone special in your life. In the case of solitary confinement it may be freedom. Whatever it is for you, it represents something upon which no amount of money can dissuade you from having it. There are no right or wrong answers, only what is most important to you. What is it in your life today for which no amount of money would persuade you to give it up?
