A welcome guest

Our planet has been here far longer than any of us. It is our temporary home while we make our journey through this life time. We are its guests, not its masters. Think of how you behave when you are the guest in someone's home. Are you respectful of their possessions or do you feel you are at liberty to leave your garbage in their living room for someone else to clean up? How do you maintain your own home when you have guests? Are you mindful of their needs or are they left to fend for themselves? Often the way we perceive being a guest reflects how we behave towards our planet. It is the custom in many cultures to bring a gift when visiting that would be appreciated by the host. What gift do you bring to the planet that will show your appreciation for it? As a guest, do you pitch in with clearing the table, making the bed, and helping with simple chores that show your caring? How do you do the same for your planetary home? Are your actions those of someone who would be eagerly invited to return or ones that cause your host to rethink your welcome? Consider this each day that you are a guest here on your home planet Earth. Ask yourself what state you are leaving this planet in for the next set of visitors. These are your children and their children. Based on how you act towards the upkeep of the planet, would it put out the welcome mat for you today?
