As good as your word
There was a time when contracts and promises were sealed with, "You have my word on that." Your word was a reflection of your integrity, trust, and character. Today we refer to your word as walking your talk. We tell people to put their money where their mouth is or remind them that talk is cheap. Our words carry power. They are the outward expression of our inner thoughts. Our thoughts convey our intentions and desires. They will come together to attract that upon which we maintain our focus. If we seal a promise with our word and then break that promise, we will see how its effect manifests in our lives. Does that mean we should never break a promise? Only after we have discussed it with the other party. That is evidence of the goodness of our word. Think of the difference in your life if people had been honest and true with their words and you with yours. How can you be as good as your word today?
