Be careful what you ask for
You have most likely heard the statement, "Be careful what you ask (or pray) for. You just might get it." This refers to being clear with our intentions of what it is we are seeking in our lives. I once asked for more communication within my relationship and ended up with a conversation that my partner no longer wanted to be together. It was certainly one of the more pointed conversations in the time we had been together, but was not what I had hoped to hear. It probably would have been more effective to ask for a conversation that would strengthen our relationship and provide longevity. Of course the universe knew better than I as to what would benefit me in the long run and I wouldn't be in my current relationship had my former one responded in the way I thought would be best for me. I have found it to be more effective if I add, "This or something better," to my request. Then I can turn the outcome over and be receptive to whatever the universe has in store for me that serves my higher good. Think about times when you have asked for something and, when you did, the answer you received was a far cry from what you thought it would be. What did you learn from that experience?
