Born to serve

How am I here to serve others? Shouldn't everything in life be about what serves me? We certainly know people who have this philosophy of life. And their lives may appear to be working just fine for them. What if, in attracting all that they think they need to thrive, it requires them to constantly raise the bar as to what will fulfill them? Will there ever be enough? Now think of a life based on service. This is not to be confused with becoming a people pleaser. When we are of selfless service we give because it is our nature to give since we are the reflection of that which created us - complete and total love. Service is an act of caring for everyone and everything around us as if it was the most important thing in our life. We would not need to fear that, if I give of myself to others, I will be diminished. Instead we would experience great levels of peace and satisfaction. This isn't an easy way to be in the world, since our egos will tell us otherwise. If we begin to serve on a small scale and then build on our experience and success with that action, we will begin to observe a difference in the way the world is for us.
