Breakthroughs through setbacks

It would be wonderful if life proceeded smoothly and effortlessly. But that is not how we learn and grow. It is through our setbacks that breakthroughs occur. One of our most precious gifts is the ability to solve the problems that face us. You may be facing financial challenges that seem insurmountable. Back in the 1990s, I was faced with home repairs that resulted from an upstairs toilet bursting when I was away from home. Water was pouring over my carport and down the interior staircase. The water damage was considerable. After following the advice of my bank on addressing the repairs, I moved forward and incurred a considerable debt in doing so. The bank then informed me that I had overdeveloped the property and they would not refinance the improvements. I did not allow that to deter me and came up with a plan that allowed me o pay off the repairs in less than three years. People told me I should have written a book on how I did it because it seemed like nothing short of a miracle. I learned that the how in doing so was in the hands of the universe given that the solution seemed to be so simple. It required faith and footwork on my part.
