Celebrating a new decade
In a few days I will be saying farewell to one decade and ushering in a new one. This is an opportunity to review the last seven decades of my life and imagine what future decades might bring. We often refer to the past as the "good old days." My past was rather checkered in this regard. It took awhile to discover who I was and where I wanted to go in life. Some of that was later than sooner. As I was exposed to new belief systems and a new way of living, life began to change for me to where it is today. Every step of the way was necessary for that to occur. Every pain and joy now makes sense. I approach each day with hope and anticipation. In the past decade I have traveled the world and had exciting adventures in the various countries I have visited. I have set goals for myself and have achieved the majority of them knowing that the resources are always available. The idea of "getting old" does not frighten me if I choose to live each day fully. More people approach death with regrets of what they would have liked to have done during their lives. That is why I fill my life with what matters to me. How do you see the decades in your life that have passed and what is your vision for future decades?
