Chocolate or vanilla?

Many of us were raised with the belief that life was an either/or experience. This was exemplified by statements such as "You can't have your cake and eat it, too" or "You can't have it both ways." Think about a situation in which you had your heart set on an intention. Perhaps it was a new home. At the same time you also desired to travel around the world. When you shared these desires with those around you, you may have heard, "In today's economy you can't have both. You can either focus on the house or on the travel." The message behind this is that the Universe has a limited supply of resources and will only provide finances to cover one desire or the other. I recall how my heart would sink when I heard this response from people. The truth is that the Universe possesses limitless resources. What limits us is our limiting thinking. If you release your desires to the Universe knowing that you are deserving of what brings you joy and happiness, the Universe will deliver on this. It IS possible to have both. If you believe that only one choice is possible, then the Universe will not disappoint you. But wouldn't life be more fulfilling if you knew that you are not limited? What would you request from the Universe if you knew you could have both chocolate AND vanilla?
