Community
We join together in community for many reasons. Community may be based on the geographical area where we reside, religious or political affiliations, or ideology. When we are truly a part of community there is a sense of connectedness and belonging. Other community members share an understanding of the dynamics of the group. There have been times when I worked in a setting that had a sense of community to it beyond performing our work tasks. We would not only work together, we would play together. This included coming in on our own time for square dances and volleyball games. This approach created more cohesion among us as a working team and most likely improved productivity. There are many ways that we experience community. Think of what the world would be like if each member of the group was dedicated to the highest purpose for what they could accomplish. What does community look like for you?
