Cycles of life

In a recent conversation I shared what my thoughts were when I was a child thinking of what I would be like in the year 2000. I equated someone in their early 50s as being very old and close to bedridden. Since it was considered impolite to ask the age of an adult, I was clueless as to what people looked or acted like at various ages. My grandparents at that point in my life were younger than I am now. My generation is beginning to occupy the upper stratum since many of my peers no longer have living parents. It is a time to reflect on the cycles that we pass through. Each cycle brings new opportunities and challenges. If I could visit the little boy that I was when I was less than 10, I would tell him that life in 2000 will be incredible and that life 25 years later is even better. I have learned to appreciate the gifts that I have been given at each level of my life and look forward to what is to come. It is in knowing that our lives here are finite that we can consciously choose to make a difference for ourselves and others. What are your thoughts on where you are in your life today?
