For free and for fun
There are times when we choose an activity that has no other purpose than to be fun. That is where the freedom comes in. It is not about carrying through on a commitment or obligation, but the sheer joy that comes from play. The form that that play takes may be different for each of us. It may be fun for some to take a walk in a park; for others it may be playing a board game. I find that playing with my dog is a constant source of pleasure and entertainment at absolutely no monetary cost. Whatever our choice of activity, we know that we will be energized as a result of engaging in it. This can be especially true if we are feeling down. Our brain produces chemicals such as dopamine that elevate our mood. Life takes on a more positive outlook and we are ready to move forward armed with hope and possibility. What can you do today that is for free and for fun?
