Give unto others
When you are feeling like you have no more to give, this may be the best time to consider giving to others. You may say to yourself, "But I have so little money to even cover my own expenses. How can I expect to help someone else out financially?" Giving doesn't always involve a monetary gift. Think of other ways that you can practice giving especially at this time of the year. It can be as simple as calling or emailing a friend or relative who is living alone. They are likely to be feeling even more isolated by what is happening with the pandemic. Reaching out to them in this manner can make all the difference in the world to them. It doesn't really matter what you talk about. It is about another human being with whom they can communicate. I used to call my stepfather back east twice a month. Since March those calls have increased to twice a week. We both look forward to them even if all we talk about is the weather. Use your creativity to come up with ways to give to others at this time. What are ways you can begin to do that today? How will you feel as you do this?
