I don't do dangling well

Recall a time when you waited patiently for a response with information that was important to you. It may have been a check for a service you rendered or the results of a medical test. After waiting for what you considered to be a reasonable amount of time, you heard nothing. You began to wonder what had happened for the delay to occur. Did the other party misplace your paperwork or the results of your tests? You reach out to them to ascertain the explanation for the delay. The response you receive is, “We’ll get back to you to let you know what happened.” Even when they provide a date by which they say they will respond, that date comes and goes. What do you do in a case like this? What are your options? You could continue to wait; you could complain to all your friends about the situation; or you could call the agency and ask to speak to a supervisor. Which of these options would most likely keep you from dangling? Now take action to receive a satisfactory response so that you can move ahead with your life. How do you typically handle situations in which you feel like you are dangling?
