I'll just do it myself
Have you ever found yourself in a situation that involved others participating in carrying out a project and they weren’t doing it the way you would? You may have been assigned to a team that turned out to be more of a group of individuals each wanting to apply their approach to the task. You were trying to function amidst confusion and a lack of direction. Since no one wanted to take on a leadership role, you took it upon yourself to take over and just do it alone. In doing so you reduced the frustration, but may have increased the stress you placed on yourself. When you completed the project, perhaps the original team received credit for its accomplishment. How did you feel if that happened? While this could be a work situation, it could just as easily occur within a family or with roommates. Should you find yourself in such a situation, ask yourself what is needed. Does each person participating have a clear expectation of their role? Are they committed to their tasks? What are the consequences for not carrying out their duties? How can you celebrate the completion of the project? When was the last time you were part of a project and what did you do to ensure its success?
