I'm OK. You're OK.
On any given day we can look around us and observe people at different points in their lives. There was a time in my life when I judged people who were struggling and thought, "Wouldn't life be easier if they just did what I told them?" I have caught myself saying, "What were you thinking when you did that?" or "I can't believe you did that again." What I realized was that I was the last person who was qualified to provide direction for that person at that time. I was assuming that I knew what was best for them and how to achieve that. I also think what I feel like when someone attempts to tell me how to live my life. Today I accept that each of us is right where we are supposed to be. I can certainly offer to share my experience when someone asks me to do that, and I know that ultimately the choice is theirs as to what action to take or not take. When I take my attention off of others and focus on myself, I am open to what I need to do to further develop. Accepting myself can be a full time job, and that acceptance does not occur when I am focused on another person. I respect your path as I hope you will respect mine. Where are you today with being OK with you?
