Inner peace
In today's busy world it is important to take time in your day to reflect and be open to solutions to problems. I usually do this in the evening before retiring, but any time can work. I spend about 15 minutes journaling. I write about what I am grateful for, what I need direction on, and what I have learned that will benefit me in my life. I find that putting thoughts to paper is a great source of release and relief. I also listen to a 15-minute meditational CD. It may be the same CD each day, but I hear something new each time I play it. The CD directs me to monitor my breathing as I attend to the message and it helps to keep me focused. At the end of this time I feel relaxed and serene with a sense of inner peace. These are not mutually exclusive activities for creating inner peace. Some people spend time in nature, listening to classical music, drawing images of what is on their mind, or chanting. Choose what works for you and be mindful of what comes to you as answers in your life. It is time well spent. You can interrupt the mind chatter for at least the time that you engage in one or more of these activities. What can you choose to do to build a time of inner peace in your life today?
