Just do something

There are events in our lives that can stop us dead in our tracks. What do we do next? Start by taking a deep breath and ask to receive what you need to move forward. The answers will come if you are open to them. The clearest example of how this has worked in my life is when I was at the end of a loaded gun during an armed robbery. When I realized what was happening, I stopped and looked up and said to something outside of myself, "Right now the odds of my surviving this are less than 50/50. You better do something to change those odds into my favor." I was never calmer in my life as I did this. It seemed as if time was standing still as I presented my case and waited for an answer. In all likelihood it was but a few seconds. The response to my request was not an action that I would have logically have taken, but I escaped without injury. I learned later that there was a shoot out with the robber, ending in his arrest. That told me that he was willing to pull the trigger. I could have stood there frozen, but that was not the plan for me. By asking, I was answered as to what to do. The solution is always available to us if we are open to it.
