Just take a deep breath

I recall as a child being told, when I was upset or felt like things were out of control, to take a deep breath and count to ten. When I could do this, the situation seemed to change. I now know that taking deep breaths is a way to relax and reduce stress levels. When I am relaxed I am open to new ways of doing things. Stress only serves to narrow my thinking and reduce my options. Deep breathing is included in so many ways to maintain a healthy mind and body. Practices such as meditation and yoga involve breathing. I have been told to physically feel positive energy entering my body as I inhale and negative energy leaving my body as I exhale. Deep breathing clears my mind and removes the chatter that reminds me of what I should be doing or that I am imperfect and undeserving of that the Universe has to offer me. The more I focus on filling myself with positive energy, the more I open myself to allowing what I desire to enter my life.
