Little things mean a lot
How do I show up in my care and concern for others? It doesn't have to be a contribution of a million dollars or building a hospital in a third world country, although those are certainly admirable if you have the means to do it. For most of us it is the little things that we do for others that can make the most difference. These acts can include sending a birthday or congratulatory card along with a personal note to brighten someone's day. It can be taking a home-cooked meal to an elderly neighbor. Or it can be as simple as a smile and a kind word to the person who bags your groceries. There are countless ways of expressing care and concern to those around us. When you do this, take inventory of how you feel. There is a warmth in giving. The benefits far outweigh any thoughts of inconvenience we might allow to get in the way of our actions. What is a small act of kindness you might engage in today and how do you feel when you do it?
