Living in the now
We often see time as existing along a continuum consisting of the past, the present, and the future. What truly exists is the present, and it only occurs for a blink of an eye. The word that I just typed is now a part of the past. The next word that I type is part of the future. Only the stroke of the key at this very second is what exists. The same is true of our lives as a whole. If we only have this split second of existence, how do we choose to live it? If we are caught up in negative thoughts and feelings, how do they honor the use of our time? We can focus on finding the good in what we are experiencing and watch how the rest of the day progresses and what we attract as a result of this approach to life. It doesn't mean we ignore or suppress what we are thinking or feeling. It simply means we notice them and place them in the perspective of the moment knowing that, like time, all thoughts and feelings pass. If the now is all we have, how are you choosing to live in the moment?
