Welcome home

This is a phrase that you commonly hear upon returning from an absence from your residence. What do you consider to be your home? When you hear that word, what is the first response that you give? Is it your current home, a previous home, or the one in which you were born? For many years I would respond that my home (or home town) was in Pittsburgh even though I left there in 1978. As circumstances changed, I no longer considered it to be my home. It is now where I live in Bend, Oregon. What changed for me to reconsider my response? Home is a place with memories and an emotional attachment. That more applies to my current home. It is the site of numerous gatherings including holiday parties and dinners. There is laughter and warmth that is shared by all who visit here. When I return home after an extended vacation, itis the place that I picture in my mind. It is a place that I have an emotional attachment and it welcomes me the moment I enter the door. Think about your response to what welcomes you home. What would that be and why?
