Never too late

Have you ever heard someone refer to a missed opportunity as “Well, that ship has already sailed” or “There are no second chances”? In some cases the reality of time may apply. If you are 60, you can’t return to being 20. Age is one factor, but what about other opportunities? You may have wanted to visit a particular place like Paris. Why not? Paris hasn’t gone anywhere and all it takes is a passport and an airline ticket. You may have always wanted to earn a college degree. What is stopping you? If you haven’t attended school in awhile you may want to test the waters by taking an introductory class at the local community college. Some program will even accept life experience as part of the degree requirements. I completed a PhD when I was approaching 60. I did so with a 4.0 while working full time. What matters is the desire and the commitment to pursue your dreams. I just heard of a man in India who was still running marathons after he had turned 100. Ask yourself what it is you have always wanted to do in life and create a plan fordoing that if it is in the realm of possibility. What is your dream and how would you plan to make it a reality?
