One day more

Date:
May 4, 2020

Time is a construct created by man that helps bring about predictability and structure. We have determined what constitutes a second, a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a month, and a year. When we tell someone we will meet them in an hour, we count on a mutual agreement of what that will be. Our history is based on locating events on a specific day or year. Yet time as we know it does not matter when it comes to what happens in the universe. A century to us is but a blink of the eye for the universe. A day is hardly noticeable. How will the events of today be absorbed into the vast continuum of what we see as time? It is our impression of time that gives it its meaning. When we question how long an event will last we may be questioning our ability to survive it. Will our life tomorrow feel like a duplicate of our life today? When will we see an end to a situation that feels intolerable? Can we make it through one day more? We remind ourselves that this too shall pass not sure of what awaits us on the other side of this. What are you doing to make the most of the day you have and the life you are here to live?
