Pandora's box

There is a story in Greek mythology about a young woman named Pandora. After Prometheus stole fire from the gods to give to humanity, Zeus sought to punish mankind. He commissioned Hephaestus to create the first woman, Pandora, who was endowed with gifts from various gods—beauty from Aphrodite, wisdom from Athena, musical talent from Apollo, and more. Her name, Pandora, means "all-gifted." The one directive was that Pandora not open a box that contained all the ills of the world. Pandora could not resist doing so and released all the ills of mankind. Only hope remained at the bottom of the box. The lesson is that, no matter how bad life seems, there is always hope that remains. It is the driving force that allows you to forge ahead. Think about a situation you might be facing at this time and how hope can assist you in moving beyond it. Some people may find themselves hoping for a miracle. Who is to say that that could not occur. There are a multitude of stories demonstrating that to be the case. We never know the true power of hope. Think of a situation you are in right now and how having hope would make that feel less imposing. How could you apply hope to help make that look different?
