Public displays of affection

One major life change for me has been to refrain from watching the news or any television program that involves violence. Our country has one of the highest rates of violence in the world. If what we focus on is what we attract, what would happen if we openly increased our caring for others? Imagine a day in which people smiled more, hugged more, and laughed more. Imagine a day in which people practiced greater courtesy. Think of what driving or checking out at the grocery store would be like. Phrases like, "May I help you?" and "Let me hold the door for you" would be the talk of the day. What would this do to our interconnectedness? We would see the beauty in every human being we encounter. What are you willing to do to create such a day?
