Telling your story

Date:
December 31, 2018

When someone asks you to tell them about past experiences, which do you choose? Do you share memories that bring up good feelings or ones that emphasize feelings such as anger and disappointment? What images come to mind? Do you have thoughts of happy occasions like vacations, special friendships, and successfully completing a task? Or do you focus on missed opportunities, a dysfunctional relationship, or past financial problems? When we choose to focus on the negative, we are setting ourselves up to attract more of the same. You have a choice when you tell your story. The more you share the good that has happened in your life, the more of that good will be present today. You are the editor of your own life's story. Maybe it would be worth your while to leave a lot of the negative experiences on the cutting room floor. What would your life story look like if you were telling it today?
