Thanks a million

When you think about your life, do you tend to focus on what you have or what you don't have? What do you have in your life today for which you can express gratitude? How about beginning with the fact that you woke up to a new day? As you perform your morning ritual, think about everything that you have or do for which you are grateful. Keep it simple for starters. Do you have clothes to wear, teeth to brush, food for breakfast, a bed to sleep in? Continue to notice all that you have been given. Your list could be endless and at the end of the day you give a million thank yous to the Universe for all that is in your life. In reference to what you don't have, be thankful that you are aware of the possibilities in your life. If needed, set an intention for what is not yet present to show up in your life. Giving thanks has positive effects in all areas of our lives. We exercise more, we sleep better, we have lower blood pressure, and we have more energy. Being grateful makes us a better worker. You are a better decision maker and are more productive when you practice gratitude. I don't think I have ever seen a study that showed the negative effects of gratitude. So why not begin to practice it today as a gift to yourself? How long would your gratitude list be today and what would be on it?
