The company we keep
It is said that we are judged by the company we keep. If that is the case, then how would people describe you based on those with whom you spend a significant amount of time? Do you surround yourself with people who are kind, generous, and caring? Or do those around you spend their time criticizing others, gossiping, and looking for ways to use those others for their benefit? This may be the perfect time to assess your relationships and decide which ones to keep and which ones to discard. This is based on who best supports the vision you have of your best self. Over the years I have had to say goodbye to those who lived their lives outside of that vision. This does not mean that they were bad people, only that we chose to live life differently. Much of this happened when I relocated from the Bay area to my current home in Bend, Oregon. A few people continue to be part of my circle of friends while others have moved on. The people in my life today hopefully reflect who I am. I see them as caring, giving, and fun to be with. They remind me of the person I wish to be. Looking at those you consider as your friends, how would they reflect who you are?
