The cost of kindness
We constantly hear about the rising cost of everything around us. It may be gas, food, a ticket to a movie, or rent. But there is one thing that has never changed in its cost or its value. That one thing is kindness. All kindness requires is that we take a moment to think about others and take action on that thought. It may be as simple as a smile, a kind word, or allowing another driver to take a parking spot that became available. What makes your act of kindness even more special is when you keep it to yourself rather than sharing it with the world. Savor how good it feels to know that you did it with no ulterior motives. You never know if your act of kindness will be paid forward. Wouldn't it be wonderful if that was the case? I wonder what would happen if we performed an act of kindness and parted with "Pass it on." We are programmed for social contact. We can choose to treat people with kindness, malice, or indifference. Think of the cost of each and make your choice. What will that choice be?
