The good new days

Date:
October 26, 2021

You probably have heard yourself or others refer to the good old days. They were days filled with nostalgia as you reminisced over past events that brought a feeling of warmth or joy. Life seemed to pass by slower and you could savor each moment. Not at all like your life today in which there never seems to be enough hours in the day to accomplish everything that needs to be done. But remember that twenty or thirty years from now, people will be look back at this very time as the good old days. They will view it from the same perspective that you did for you past. What will they reflect upon? Will it be their view of medical advances, how communication changed, or what people did to pass their leisure time? All of this will be colored by the context in which they place these events. As you go through your day, recognize your experiences and how they might fall into the category of good "new" days that could eventually qualify for good "old" days. This is one advantage of keeping a journal in words or photos. What happened today for you that you will reminisce upon with warm memories twenty years from now?
