War and peace
Conflicts may arise on a global level or between two people. Conflicts originate when two parties each have a need that they fear will not be met. On a global level it may be based on fear of lack of land, money, or resources. On an interpersonal level it may be a need for control, envy of what the other possesses, or need for recognition. There is only one goal, to eliminate or suppress the other party. This ensures that the other's needs are met until the next threat comes along. In this way war perpetuates itself since the other's needs may never truly be met. War requires a separation or distancing from the other side. It is about creating the illusion of right and wrong, good and evil, we vs they. Peace is the establishment of harmonious relationships based on the security that everyone's needs can be met in mutually beneficial ways. For this to occur there must be a respect and a caring for others. There are only winners. Both parties thrive through mutual support and understanding. War is sustained by a focus on lack; peace is sustained by a focus on abundance. The Universe does not know lack. It is forever expanding, producing more than what is needed for all to thrive. Which of these two polarities do you support through your daily actions?
