What were you thinking?
The strength of our thoughts has been spoken of for millennia. Even as far back as biblical times it was written that," For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." This later became the basis for an early 20th century work by James Allen, As a Man Thinketh. It is a common message dealing with the power of thought. We often fail to realize the power that our thoughts convey. We are admonished to be careful what we wish for and to weigh our thoughts before we speak. We hear of self-fulfilling prophecy in which the beliefs we hold about ourselves can predict the outcome of our thoughts and actions. If we believe that the world is inherently good, we will see that good manifested around us. The same is true when we believe that life only brings pain and suffering. That is why it is important to monitor your thoughts and direct them toward what you desire in life for yourself and others. If you believe in the power of thought, how are you focusing on how it can bring forth good in the world?
