What's my choice?

The choices you make are based upon satisfying a need in your life at that moment in time. It may be a need for comfort, a need to appease your hunger, a need to reenergize through play. The list goes on and on. Our choices may also be based on our darker needs. There may be a need to demonstrate power over another through violence, a need to eliminate your competition, or a need to increase your own wealth through the deprivation of others. These needs may become a driving force in your life affecting the choices you make. As needs change, so do the choices surrounding them. You typically see this when parents downsize as a result of their children leaving home. They no longer have the need for a large home. Many people have a need to share their good fortune and so they seek out choices for causes that allow them to have a sense of fulfillment coming from the basic need to feel "good" about themselves. The choices that you make are endless. It sometimes helps to know what the needs are behind those choices that are unique to who you are. What was the last choice you made and what was the need behind it?
